Methodology

Our Process.

From first conversation to final detail — a disciplined, human-centred approach to making architecture.

Our process is not linear — it is cyclical. Each phase informs the next, and we return to earlier stages whenever the work demands it. What remains constant is our commitment to rigour, honesty, and the belief that great architecture emerges from deep understanding.

01

Listen

We begin with silence. Understanding the site, the brief, and the lives that will inhabit the space.

Every project starts with a series of deep conversations — with the client, with the site, with the surrounding context. We visit at different times of day, observing light, sound, and movement. The brief is not a document; it is a relationship we build over weeks.

Sketch

Hand-drawn before digital. We explore spatial ideas through physical models and analogue drawing.

Before any screen is turned on, our studio fills with paper. Charcoal studies, cardboard models, wax moulds. This analogue process forces us to think with our hands, discovering spatial relationships that software cannot reveal.

03

Refine

Every detail is questioned. Materials are tested, proportions adjusted, light studied through the seasons.

Material samples — concrete, timber, stone, brass — arranged in a precise row under warm raking light

We build 1:1 material samples. We test finishes in situ. We model light at solstice and equinox. The refinement phase is where architecture moves from idea to inevitability — every joint, every threshold, every shadow is considered.

04

Realise

We stay on-site from first pour to final finish. The building is completed when it feels inevitable.

Our architects are present throughout construction, collaborating with craftspeople to ensure the design intent is carried through to every detail. A building is not complete when the last wall is painted — it is complete when it feels as though it has always been there.

Process

We design from the inside out — understanding how people move, gather, and rest before the first line is drawn.

Architecture is not the making of objects. It is the making of experience.
